WIWW: Outfit: It’s easy being green

A weekend evening sans children…

is reason even to celebrate.

A quiet meal without food being thrown or ketchup included.

Briefly remembering what it was like, many moons ago, when it was just “us”.

8 years of many ups and a few valleys…

Reason enough to shower, get the hair out of a pony tail, and get semi-dressed up.

Yes, this necklace has received its fair share of play this summer.
I’m okay with wearing things on repeat.
Especially, when I mean to restring my many broken beaded necklaces at night, and then my crafting ADD hits and I forget…

So, also on repeat this purse…

and these sandals…

It’s a good thing I’m not a fashion blogger, because you all would be throwing stones at me.  In real life, don’t we all wear things to death?

I use my purses until they are holey beyond repair, and my shoes til they disintegrate.

With the husband as a photog, here’s the outfit in total.  I love this emerald green.  This summer I’ve really been playing with color more.

Here’s the details:

dress: forever 21 {$17.80} *such a steal! it’s more “green” than it appears at F21
 :: shoes {similar here} :: purse {similar here}
earrings {i made them} necklace {can’t find similar!}
Have a great week,
Nicolette

  1. You look so cute! I wear stuff till it’s falling apart or gets misshapen from too many washings. Or, like my last purse, gets 7 ounces of breast milk poured into it and can’t be washed so it gets that awesome ‘old milk’ scent that just *does not* wanna come out. awesome.

    I think most people, even those in the blog world, wear things until they fall apart! I’m a firm believer in this practice.

    PS–Do you live in downtown Chicago? I’m originally from Joliet, and I went to UIC for college (southside ChiTown).

    Happy Anniversary, Nicolette! And you both look great! I concur- I wear stuff until it’s flat worn out and then pack it away, only to get it out the next year to wear again as though it were new :} If there is a clothing budget in this house, it belongs to the kids for the most part. :) Hope you have an awesome rest of the week!
