WIWW: Outfit- Hello, new baby…

No, I’m not pregnant again.

But my sister-in-law is!

Last weekend, was the baby shower, and it called for a day of dress-up.

Let us begin with the most important part of the outfit: the heels.
Funny story: Upon purchasing these bad boys at Target during a bi-monthly diaper run, the cashier in her late 60s, verbally abused me for “buying heels so high, are you out of your mind?”
I tried explaining the beauty of the platform in the front, and blah, blah, blah, and then had a laugh.

Despite the Ides of March from my favorite Target cashier, I’ve worn them on several occasions, and they are THE most comfortable heels ever.  I rue the day this type of heel falls out of fashion.  I think I will keep in them in the closet for mere decoration.

Given my love of the playful fashion sense of this woman, I think these wild shoes are a safe bet for the time to come…

Here’s the outfit in total, aka, the sheepish vanity shot:
More detail of the shirt and a peek at the earrings…
This purse was my late grandmother’s.  She used it all the time, even for weekly trips to the hairdresser. I remember digging about it in search of her lipsticks, as my mom never wore lipstick.  It’s one of my go-to bags for dressier events.  I love vintage, and that it was hers…a connection to the past.

So, there you have it.  My love of lace and leopard still continues into my 30s, although more subtle than my teens and college years.

Here’s me with my two sisters-in-law…

Here’s the details of the outfit.  If you are a heels girl, the leopard ones are a bargain.  Shop online to avoid being abused by cashiers for your high-heeled choices…

I *love* your outfit. Your purse story made me nostalgic and sniffly. I also have a pair of platform heels that are very similar; except my husband was the person who was exclaiming “you are going to wear THOSE?!” But I love them.

I would have proudly told the cashier, “Mommy needs hooker heels”. I think then she’d understand. You just aren’t living if you don’t own a pair of shoes like that.

  8. Wear those pretty shoes as long as you can! I used to adore buying beautiful shoes, now I can’t walk in heels anymore, I have to buy for comfort. Hopefully you can wear them for many more years, you look gorgeous!
