I’m tired of being the SAHM {well WAHM now}in the uniform. Yoga pants. Pumas. Tired ass tee-shirts. Unwashed hair in a bun.
I’ll be joining in the WIWW world weekly now.
But, the hair will remain unwashed. {Tip: It gets less greasy, and is easier to style}
So, taking inspiration from a few of my favorite fashion/style bloggers: Lisa @ Stilettos & Diaper Bags, Lilly @ Lilly’s Style, and Tanya @ November Grey…I’m dressing up a few times a week. It can’t be an everyday thing here at momnivore’s dilemma, but kudos to the mamas that can.
I feel more productive and even a little pretty, and dare I say, even if it is a little circa 1987. I think pink and grey is one of the best color combos…
Given that colored jeans are on my affordable and realistic trends for spring 2012, without further adieu, I’ll be rocking sunglasses, because it feels weird taking pictures of yourself.
Designers pay big money for antiqued mirrors.
My house is so old, I just have them.
Original 1938 door.
Behold, the vintage-ness.
Extreme close up.
Love the Flashdance off the shoulder.
Ignore the pasty skin. I channel my inner vampire.
Admire the flats.
Outfit details
Top:
long black tank {old from TJ Maxx} $10 on clearance
grey boxy knit shirt {Forever 21}mine’s gone. it was $13.80 very similar @ Forever for $15.80
Bottoms:
hot pink skinnies {Old Navy} $34.50 {they run small, so order a size up}
Accessories
ring {from my own Touch Blue Designs-launching june 2011} will be $11
bracelet {vintage from local antique shop} $10
earrings: thrifted ? can’t recall.
Shoes:
Blowfish flats {on clearance from TJ Maxx $15- lucky me, right?} similar here for only $35.99.
I’m picky with my flats, because I beat them to death. Blowfish’s shoes has yet to let me down. I also have a pair of their boots that were the most comfortable {yet stylish} boots ever. For the flats, no blisters, either, which is huge-given I wear these suckers 5 days a week.
Now get out of those yoga pants and dress up, if only for yourself.
xoxo

Sharing my 80s-inspired outfit @

I’m so with you here. I posted last week that I wasn’t sure when “work from home” became equated with “dress like a homeless person” in my mind. Time to change that — off to The Maxx.
Today I put on skinny jeans, a bright blue cardigan over a black tank and paired that with black flats. I “dress up” once a week sometimes twice.
You look adorable, but I think you are one of those girls who could put on a Glad bag, accesorize it and look wonderful!
super cute! love the colored denim!
love that jeans and also your bracelet! It’s so nice!!
