return to center

Over this past week, I painted and pondered.
I fought fevers with time.
I painted some more and sewed and created,
instead of daydreaming on pinterest, the ultimate time suck.
I sat in doctor’s offices and life insurance meetings and hospital rooms.
I returned to life before blogging.
It was a little quieter.
A little lonelier.
I realized how much I need this space.
I tried to totally unplug, but couldn’t
I still tweeted, pinned, and read, but kept it at a bare minimum
I needed to step back from writing.
Just to see how much I missed it
and if I really needed it.
And I do.
Even though I backed away forced myself to stop writing, I couldn’t stop that little voice in my head…”I’d love to blog about this…”
I couldn’t stop snapping pictures with my iPhone because they would be great for a future post.
The week taught me: to balance better and use my time more wisely.
In 2012, I have many a thing to accomplish.
Working with my sons as much as possible.
Healing Moose.
Slaying the autism dragon of bacteria and viruses gone wild.
meanwhile…
Taking lots of respite time for myself.
Learning how to “do” real food.
Making a substantial income again.
Reconnecting with my fiction writing.
The best part?
I finally got myself off the damn sofa and returned to yoga.
And committed for 6 weeks without a new year’s resolution.
This week I have plenty to share…tutorials and ideas galore.
Stay tuned…

Odd how sometimes it just takes a moment to step back to find what is important in our lives. Great inspirational post! Thank you!

  4. It seems like you did a lot of introspection while you were unplugged. Hope you feel recharged now and ready for more blogging.
Yaay! for yoga. I’m still teetering to maintain my 3 times a week exercise routine.

I really need to get back to yoga. I always feel so good when I come back from the yoga studio. Sounds like your break was the perfect refresh. Thanks for sharing.
