Operation Pimp my FronchRoom: Pillow Upgrade Tutorial and some Good Laughs

Time to ditch the peanut butter walls and the scary pillows.  The fronch room {Chicago-ese for front rooms} is in dire, desparate need of some new kicks.

Seriously.  But given that the majority of my money goes to gluten-free food, medical bills, and supplements for me and the kids…I am on a budget so tight you hear my wallet scream when you open it…
Enter clearance napkins from Dwell Studio for Target.
With my divine mad sewing skills {all I can tackle are straight lines at this juncture}…I did it.  They are a bit lumpy but whatever.  Better than the old ones!
Even if you don’t have access to a sewing machine, you can do it!
How to:
1.) Sew inside-out fabric on 3 sides. {I love using napkins because of the built-in hem}
2.) Stuff with a pillow form or old tees, etc.
3.) Sew the final side.  Or if you are real talented, install a zipper.
{I’m not that talented yet}
Voila, new eye candy for your sofa.
Here’s the frumpy before:
and the after:
We have Sir Bugsy Doodle modeling with said napkin turned pillow.

Ma, this is my good angle.

I enjoy coordinating pets with decor.
Pillows can be made from old tees, old baby clothes, tablecloths, sweaters, thrift store finds, you name it!
Think outside the over-priced department or even TJ Maxx store pillow.
Pillows are to sofa as earrings are to outfit.
Now, go bling up your sofa with that dress that’s still cute, but will never be worn again.
I totally have one of those.

    That turned out SO cute! I was thinking this morning about making throw pillows for our master bedroom once it’s painted & has been overhauled.

    Love your sofa!! I would never have thought of using napkins for cushions…amazing! Shame hubby hates cushions and the ones we have are banished under our boring brown sofa, ho hum…
