{she’s crafty} Valentine’s Day blocks- upcycled from ABC blocks

My boys are like teething puppies.  These ABC blocks from Melissa and Doug weren’t used as directed, rather chewed on for their delicious paper pulp.  The block were made in China of course- Lord knows what chemicals they ingested.

It’s hard to find any American toys. The ones I have found are the equivalent of my car payment. I’m ready to whittle them out of wood myself.  I digress.
But, the upcyclist in me couldn’t stand to recycle them.  I knew they’d resurrect in a craft.
With a little modpodge and scrapbook paper…
These chewed ABC blocks are now these Valentine’s Day decorations.  The blocks did require a lil plastic surgery before they resurrected as this craft.  Nothing like a little packing tape to get the job done.
They sit in all their glory on my vignette which is out of reach of the monsters.
Cost of this project: Free.  I had the paper.  The blocks were a gift from Nana Magic way back when.
