Welcome to the most tempting day of the Beat the Winter Blues Party…
Take it away, Becky…
Happy Friday everyone! My name is Becky and I’m from a little blog called From The Kitchen Of: Mrs Bettie Rocker. Nicolette was kind enough to invite me here today to participate in her “Beat The Winter Blues” party. In my completely unbiased opinion, I have the BEST link party of the whole month: Indulge your Sweet Tooth. I am a self professed Junk Food Junkie, so this is right up my alley!
So. This is me in a nutshell: I’m a wife, and a mom, and I rock. I spend as much time in the kitchen as possible. I like tattoos, vintage things and books. I hate talking about myself. I love aprons. And skulls. And aprons with skulls. My happy place is in my kitchen. It’s the only thing in the house that’s totally mine and free of stinky boys! You’ll find me hiding out in there a little bit every day.
My blog is FULL of recipes, sprinkled with tales of motherhood, surviving Postpartum Depression, and my struggle to accept the fact that I am no longer as cool as I used to be.
As the lone vegetarian in the house, there is one thing I make that we can all enjoy together, and that is sweets.
This is a recipe for homemade snickers bars that I made earlier this year and it is TO DIE FOR! Perfect for your Valentine ♥
-
Melt together the first layer ingredients in the microwave stirring every 30 seconds until melted. Spread in lightly greased 9 by 13 inch glass pan. Put in fridge to cool.
-
Melt butter in sauce pan on medium high heat, add sugar and milk and bring to a boil. Stir for 5 minutes. Mixture will start to follow your spoon before you add the other ingredients. If it is grainy looking (mine was not) you can use your beater to blend it and smooth it out. Remove from stove and stir in marshmallow cream, peanut butter and vanilla and peanuts. Mix until smooth. Spread over the first layer.
-
Unwrap and melt the caramels w/ the cream in the microwave stirring every 30 seconds until melted. Pour over filling layer.
-
Melt together in microwave stirring every 30 seconds. Spread evenly on top.
Store these in the fridge until cooled. Cut into bars, wrap individually and keep stored back in the fridge.
Thanks so much Becky for sharing this with my readers today! I know you all will be as addicted her blog as I am!
Now, let’s all link up those gooey desserts & sugar-filled treats. If it indulges your sweet tooth, it qualifies for this party!
