Preschool Drop-out

Despite the early intervention’s transition to Chicago Public School at a mere 2.5 years old…we are opting out.  Moose isn’t potty-trained, doesn’t talk much, and I know in my heart he isn’t ready.

Moose and Einstein have a lot in common.

I taught in Chicago.  It ain’t pretty.

Since all Early Intervention therapies stop cold turkey once a kid turns the magical age of 3, I am on a mission to make sure he is getting what he needs.  This kid craves movement, loves swimming, and NEEDS to move.

Honestly, I don’t think 3 year old preschool is for all kids.  Not this kid, who is barely 3.

Circle time can wait.

For now, we can fingerpaint at home.

So, thanks, Chicago Public Schools, but we will see you next year.

I’ve been around you and the boys and you ARE a preschool program! :) He’ll get exactly what he needs with you…and be better off for it! Way to go mom! Stick with your instinct!!!!
